How much does a lawn irrigation system cost?
Every property is different, so cost depends on your lot size, the number of watering zones, and the lawn and gardens you want covered. Rather than quote a one-size-fits-all price, we start with a free, no-obligation estimate and design a system sized to your yard.
When is the best time of year to install a sprinkler system?
Spring through fall is ideal here in Massachusetts, once the ground has thawed and before it freezes again. We install throughout the season and can schedule around new sod or plantings so they get watered right away.
Are lawn irrigation systems worth it?
For most homeowners, yes. An automatic system waters deeply and consistently at the best time of day, which keeps a lawn healthier than hand-watering while saving you the daily chore, and smart controllers with rain sensors help avoid wasting water.
Do I need backflow testing or a permit in Massachusetts?
Because an irrigation system ties into your home's drinking water, Massachusetts requires backflow prevention to keep that water safe, and some towns require a permit. We install and test the backflow device and handle the local requirements as part of the job.
What are spring start-ups and winterization?
In spring we turn the system on, check every zone and head, and adjust the coverage for the season. Before winter we blow the lines out with compressed air so no water is left to freeze and crack your pipes. We offer both as scheduled seasonal services.
Do you repair systems you didn't install?
No. We only repair and maintain irrigation systems that were originally installed by P.J. Pappas. This lets our team provide reliable service based on systems we know and can properly support.
