Winterization
Protect the system before the freeze.
In New England, water left in irrigation lines over winter freezes, expands, and cracks pipes, valves and heads. A proper fall blow-out clears every zone with compressed air so your system comes through the cold intact and ready for spring.
- Before the first hard freeze
- For systems we installed
- Family-owned since 1986
The Fall Blow-Out
Every zone cleared with compressed air.
Simply shutting the water off isn't enough, water sits in the lateral lines and heads and has nowhere to go when it freezes. We connect compressed air to the system and run it zone by zone until each line is clear, then shut down and protect the backflow preventer. Because we installed your system, we know how it's zoned and where the low points are, so nothing gets missed. We schedule winterizations through the fall so your system is done before the first hard freeze arrives.
- Each zone cleared with compressed air
- Lateral lines and heads emptied of standing water
- Backflow preventer shut down and protected
- Controller set to its off / rain mode for winter
